Company History. The House of Weddings was started as a new concept in the wedding industry. Born from a merger of two specialist wedding companies that each saw the need to fill in the gaps in their portfolios. The House of Weddings directors, Grace Jerling and Beverley Streets met in 2002 when they were both running their own businesses, both based in Cosham. Grace was founder of Everything But The Gown which was a retail shop selling literally everything but wedding gowns, Beverley had an established wedding and celebration cake business called Sakura. |

They both
realised that they shared a common dream of starting a One Stop Wedding Shop
and took the first step by renting space in adjoining office premises and
ran the businesses side by side. By popular demand they introduced a 3rd
business called The Gown supplying wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses.
Business grew quickly and soon new larger premises were sought. North Street
Havant was an ideal size and benefited from a great location. After an
extensive refit the new home for House of Weddings was opened in March 2004
by the Mayor of Havant. In March 2006, Grace left to start a family and Beverley took the exciting decision to take over the entire business herself. Along with this big change was a revamp of the shop which created new space on the shop floor. This allowed Beverley to expand the collection of Brides-maid, evening and Prom dresses to become one of the largest collections in the South. Beverley also has been able to dedicate an area solely for Men’s wear hire and accessories. Keeping a close eye on new trends, and listening to the needs and requirements of the customer, Beverley has some new and exciting ideas for the near future, so watch this space.
